Florence Bank Holds Ribbon Cutting to Commemorate New Holyoke Branch and Donates $30,000 to Six Holyoke Nonprofits
Florence Bank held a ribbon cutting ceremony on August 20 to commemorate the opening of its newest branch located at 1490 Northampton Street in Holyoke. In conjunction with the event, the Bank presented $5,000 donations to six Paper City organizations: the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Holyoke; The Care Center; Girls, Inc. of the Valley; Greater Holyoke YMCA; Nueva Esperanza; and Providence Ministries.
Florence Bank President and CEO Matt Garrity addressed an audience that included Holyoke Mayor Joshua A. Garcia, state and local officials, nonprofit representatives, Florence Bank employees, and members of the Bank’s board of directors.
“To us, being a community bank means more than just having a branch in the community,” said Garrity. “It’s about stepping up, pitching in, and meeting the needs of the communities we serve. That’s been our mission since our founding in 1873 and that’s not about to change.”
The Holyoke branch is Florence Bank’s thirteenth overall and fourth in Hampden County.
Designed by HAI Architecture and constructed by the Colvest Group LTD and Keiter Corporation, the 2,500 square foot office features a spacious lobby, traditional teller stations, five offices, a drive-up teller window, and a drive-up ATM.
“We’re excited to open a branch in a community with such a proud and rich history,” said Garrity. “We look forward to serving our current customers and welcoming new friends and neighbors to our newest location.”
